heart rate monitor accuracy

Hi, I recently bought a hrm. It records 24hrs a day and resets at midnight each night. I've read a lot of reviews and all rave about it's accuracy. According to the calories burned in 24hrs on a normal day for me it claims I'm burning close to 3000 cals per day. I have mfp set for lightly active to compensate for my work schedule and it has me eating almost 1500 cals per day. As of now I'm losing 2.5 lbs per week, so I know I could probably eat another 100-200 cals and still lose a good amount each week. But the part that confuses me is that if my hrm is so accurate, I would technically be eating at a 1500 cal deficit... should I take it back?
