Howdy to ya'll,
I read where 3500 calories is equal to one pound. So you need to have a deficit of 3500
to lose 1lb. I figured up my TDEE to be 2285 and my BMR to be 1904. The doctor has
me on 1600 calories per day. So what is my calorie deficit for one week.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Have a great day.

2285 - 1600 * 7 = 47950

So you are doing absolutely no exercise and very little daily movement?
You picked Sedentary activity level in the TDEE chart. Which in that 1919 study is really sedentary.
And that 3500 cal per lb is in reference to fat.
But if you lose muscle mass, it only provide energy of 600 cal per lb. So do it wrong and too aggressive, and you can lose more lbs of muscle easier.0 -
It's recommended you don't eat below a 20% deficit so you don't break down muscle along with fat. You should be eating at least 1830 calories a day0
