Help with easy meals

Hi there. I have never been one to cook, and am having trouble with weight loss because I am opting for quick 'on the go' food. I have a one year old and a full time job. My husband pretty much eats on his own, but we are trying to change that and want to do at least dinner as a family. Anyone have any good tips for a 'non-cooker', or have any ideas on planning when I have no time?
