Fat loss - realistic goals & tips?

Hi everyone! Although I'd like to think I'm doing much better now than a month ago in terms of exercise and nutrition, I measured my body fat percentage today and it's about 26.5%. I would like to cut it back to 24% (at least as an initial goal).

I eat 1280 kcal/day, and work out about 3 times a week on average for 1,5 hours.. My stats are as follows (metric system):

Weight: 63 kg.
Neck: 31 cm.
Waist: 75 cm.
Hips: 97.5 cm.

So, assuming I keep this up, what would be a realistic goal in terms of time frame? And how would you recommend I spend my time in the gym? Any diet/nutrition tips?

Of course every body is different, but I'd really appreciate some advice considering I am a bit of newbie in regards to the 'fat loss, not weight loss' thing :)

You kind of forgot a really important stat - how tall are you?

63kg is light! I'm 2cm shorter than you and my goal weight is 65kg.

I believe lifting weights might be what you're after?
  • For fat loss, not weight loss you'll need to up your calories and eat closer to or at maintenance. You're going to need to feed your body to gain lean mass, while losing fat.

Move heavy things around a lot.

    Repetitively.

    Daily.

Agree, lift heavy and eat about 250 under maintenance, or at maintenance.

Cut carbs(so you wont get cravings for food at all), eat more fiber, fat and protein. 1.5h is too long, I unless you're doing low intencity activity in fat burning zone. Try out doing some HIIT for 10-15mins a day.

I take 3 dance classes per week (Zumba, ballet, and hiphop, 1 hour each) and since the gym is kind of far I always figure I'l do some arm or leg exercises afterwards, being that I'm already there anyways :) (but nothing that heavy.. which I've now learned is what I should be doing!)

However, I definitely want to give HIIT a try!! Will look up some schedules right now :)
