Cold water

Is drinking cold water good for the body?
I've heard that it burns fat by forcing the body to use calories to heat itself up, but I've also heard that cold water is hard on the stomach...

Why it can take 32 calories of energy to warm up a 20 oz bottle of water to body temperature I do not prefer ice cold water.0

OMG that's hysterical
You just know people will do it though :huh:0 -
I believe it has an affect, a very small, minor insignificant affect on your calories burned.
But if your interested here is a diet based around cold.
Just joking about the above diet.
I gave your reply the "The Rock" eyebrow raise look -_^... Until I read you were just yankin our chain0 -
I don't like peas. Could I replace them with ice cream?0

I did read this drink cold even shower in cold water. So apparently warming up the cold water would burn a few calories. Showering in cold water keeping your house colder walking barefoot training in colder environment could help boost your caloric burn through thermogenesis. Also putting ice pack on your neck or other body parts would help generate more brown or beige fat. That is the fat that gets burned for thermogenesis. Not the white fat if I remember the paper correctly. BUT in those study people who boosted their fat loss with thermogenesis were eating an healthy diet with a reasonable deficit and we're training hard. So drinking cold water is not the solution or just eating frozen peas either.
So yes you can drink cold water and eat frozen peas but you will shed fat by creating a calorie deficit through your diet and exercise regimen. Without the deficit even if you drink cold water you will not shed fat0 -
It's all a load of total bunk. I drink cold water because I prefer the taste, it makes me feel more alert and less hungry, but it's not going to make a difference on my weight loss.0
