Never too Late

Hi All!

I'm 56, overweight when I started out a month ago, and 20 years removed from an active lifestyle. Sounds attractive, right ?

I want to turn back the clock as much as is reasonably possible to the me that was 17 years old. That leads to a few goals:
Weigh about 120 - 125 (BMI of 19 - 20.)
Be able to exercise moderate+ for two hours at a time without drama or a long recuperation time.
Show my abs ;)

I started dieting a month ago, and for the past two weeks exercising. I now weigh 136 lbs and can bicycle or elliptical for 45 minutes at a go and still function after. I figure that puts me at about halfway. Weight loss has been faster than recommended (and not rebound) but I found it easy to remove a large amount of fat from my diet and re-adopt much smaller portions. So now I am eating 800 - 900 kCal a day and exercising about that amount over 90 minutes split between two sessions daily.

I'm relieved to say that I am not hungry. Food variety is mostly determined by what vegetables and fruits I am in the mood for, but my general meals have taken on a pattern I follow to eat enough protein rather than satiety per se:

Calcium and daily Vit supplements
Breakfast:
-- Fat free Yoghurt
-- Two Wasa crackers
-- Fruit

Lunch:
-- Tofu
-- Vegetables
-- Soy Sauce

Dinner:
-- Lentil Soup
-- Two Wasa crackers

Snacks:
-- Fruit

I'm waiting on the mail for protein (amino acid) supplements. I'll eat about 20 grams a day, which costs about 50 cents daily.

I'm optimistic that I can carry on this routine as long as I want, and modify it to a weight stable diet when the time comes without fanfare. I'll have to say goodbye to candy and large portions but I'm too old to continue acting stupid. Please comment, critique or laugh.
