Running shoe problem. Runners out there?

Hello there.
So I've been picking up on my running with my goal as a 1/2 marathon. I researched a ton of running shoes before purchasing. Yes, I thought about getting my feet professionally sized and fitted, but that seemed extravagant. Well.....
Only a couple of months ago a purchased a pair of Brooks (I can't recall the exact model). I loved them at first. They were extremely light and comfortable. However, as my milage is increasing, I am starting to blister on my right inner foot.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle foot blistering without buying a new pair of sneakers? I know buying again is probably the way to go, but money is tight now...
Any siggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello there.
I thought about getting my feet professionally sized and fitted, but that seemed extravagant.
Any good running store will do that for free but be sure you buy the shoes there and not online. How do you know if the Brooks you bought are the right shoes for you? Also, you will probably need new shoes every few months if you are training for marathon.

Thanks. I think I was skimping on the cost of the shoe. BIG mistake that I will never make again. I think I tend to wear thicker socks, so I'll try thinner. I also heard moisturizer on the foot will prevent the friction? Talc seems like it makes more sense, though.
Thanks for the help. As you can see, I am relatively new to the running world. I'm loving it, though!0 -
I always have atleast two pairs of shoes to run in, it extends the life of the shoes and helps me to not get blisters. I jog/run 6 days a week. Good Luck on your quest.0

Body Glide (or Arm and Hammer's version that you can get at Walmart near the bandages) is fabulous for preventing blisters and friction.0

I put Vaseline on my feet/toes where I tend to blister, and it's been ages since I had painful blisters. Also: make sure you have wicking socks if you don't already. They make a world of difference!0

Are your runners your usual shoe size? Most running shoes are purchased a 1/2 size larger to accommodate your foot as it swells while running. Make sure you've got plenty of room in the toe box.
Wicking socks are a must.

I have a pair of Brooks Glycerin running shoes that does the exact same thing to both my feet. I was professionally fitted for them as well. I finally gave up and bought the latest asics gel nimbus sneakers because I just couldn't take the blisters on the insides of my feet. Good luck!0

I use special anti-blister socks. They have two layers so the socks rub against each other and not against your skin.0

Blistering happens because something is rubbing your foot at that spot. Solutions involve:
1. Lubrication, such as Vaseline or Body Glide.
2. Wicking socks (thin polypropylene) worn under regular socks, to keep feet dry and so that the outer sock rubs against the inner sock, not your foot.
3. Lacing your shoes differently so that they are tighter where the blister is forming. Ian's Shoelace Site has a wealth of information about this.
4. Working on your running form, so that the rubbing doesn't occur.

I used to have the same issue until I changed my socks. They have 2 fine layers that rub against each-other rather than your foot......miracle socks! Mine are Nike0
