plateau

I have lost around 27lbs since May. I have 1 more lb to go until I reach my 1st goal and join the under 200 club. Problem is its been 3 weeks and nothing. I have bumped up my fitness to include daily 1-2 mile bike rides. I know I need to change something up. Tips? Thanks!

Firstly, 3 weeks isn't really long enough to start worrying - a plateau is usually considered to be 6 weeks or more without loss. So don't panic too much, chances are the weight will start coming off again soon.
That said, do you weigh everything you eat? Can you open your dairy?0 -
Your weight loss journey isnt likely to be linear. You should see my weight graphs over the last few months - I'm all over the map, even though my body doesn't look any different. There's nothing wrong with changing it up, though, and you will probably enjoy the variety. I would suggest keeping your nutrition constant and adding a new challenge weekly or joining a team sport. I know that I switch things up all the time - take a day off from my workouts and go hiking, plan a surf trip, whatever. Sometimes it can be fun just to do some youtube exploration and find a new circuit or routine to try out.
I don't know that this will shift your weight loss progress, or that you even need something to shift it... but it will DEFINITELY help shift your focus and bring more joy to your fitness lifestyle. You will probably even find that there are new cool things you can do now after your 27 lb loss. Which is FANTASTIC by the way, and you should definitely be proud.
Good luck!0 -
I started in April, down 20 so far and I'm going on day 12 of not losing anything. I keep weighing myself each morning because I FEEL lighter, but the scale isn't budging, YET. It will! Gotta keep on keeping on and DRINK MORE WATER. That's usually my problem.0

I was always told that a plateau is 4 or more weeks with no change in weight OR measurements. Have you been taking your measurements? Has there been a change? Either way, 3 weeks is a stall, not a plateau, and is a part of life.
The best thing to do is double check your weighing, measuring, and logging to make sure you are not eating too much. Many stalls are our own doing because we have let more calories creep in. If your intake and burn numbers are good, then it is "one of those things" that just happens. The human body is weird and does weird things at times. One of these is a stall in weight loss. Often the stall ends in a "whoosh" where you drop a bunch at one time.
I would not change anything up right now, except to tighten up the weighing, measuring, and logging, if needed. Go a couple more weeks, then revisit what you are doing. I have had 3 stalls in my 19 months of losing, 2 for 3 weeks and 1 for 4 weeks. The 3 week stalls were just one of those things. The 4 weeker was partially my doing because I had too many days of overeating. All ended, usually with a whoosh.
The important thing is: what is your weekly average weight loss since you started, and how does that compare with your target?
ETA: you will be in Onederland before you know it. It is really nice here!
