Does anyone know where to find or already have a list of all the fruits & veggies and what exactly they're good for? It would also be helpful to know which ones are vitamin-rich in whatever specific vitamin they're rich in. haha Hope that makes sense!! The ones I know:
- Citrus fruits (orange, lemon) : Vitamin C
- Banana : Potassium
I know for sure these foods are good for helping with Vitamin D deficiencies:
- Asparagus
- Canteloupe
- Red Pepper
- Kelp
- Garlic
- Broccoli
- Parsley
- Peaches
- Sage
- Apricot

Someone posted a full 3 page list (months ago) of foods that help burn fat. I know it's not really helpful to you now, but maybe you could do a search for it on the forums?
Pineapple is a good fat fighter.
I'm sorry, I'm not helpful0 -
Thanks, but I'm just looking for which foods have which vitamins in them... I want to make sure I'm getting a well-balanced diet without having to take vitamin supplements.0

watermelon, strawberries..... any red fruits have lycopene and fight radicals (which cause cancer)
lycopene also is a huge preventive supplement for prostate cancer...
orange fruits have vitamin A and are good for our eyes =]
all the blue/purple fruits are filled with antioxidants =]
AND not many ppl focus on this but the dark colored fruits such as blueberries, plums etc help prevent blood clots! and improve circulation => prevents heart disease!
theres so many more but i cant think of anymore lol0 -
Fruit is generally good for vitamins A, C, and E and are loaded with antioxidants.
If you're on a deficit, you should be taking a multivitamin.0 -
Vitamin A: Carrots (I just put in an entry for a carrot recipe with over 100% RDA Vitamin A for 1/2 cup!)
Potassium: Bananas
Broccoli is high in Vitamin C I think? I'll have to look back at my food diary and check.0 -
