Crossfit Weight Gain

Hey, everyone. I recently switched to Crossfit from a bootcamp style workout about four months ago because I had gotten to the point where I had plateaued and wasn't losing weight. Plus, I was ready for a new change. I've gained weight since, and I've heard of others having a similar experience. Some of it may be muscle, but I think some may be fat. (I can tell by how my clothes feel). I am in the process of working on cleaning my diet, but have others had the issue? How did you get back on track and lose weight?

I've only taken Crossfit three times at three different gyms and based on those workouts that I experienced I thinking switching to Crossfit would hinder where I want to be at also. I know this has been the case for a couple of my friends as well. But aside from that you said you are in the process of cleaning up your diet so once you make those changes you might find that CF works for you and your weight loss goals.

I came on to research the same concept! After a gym hiatus (of 2 years) I began crossfit. I feel stronger and workouts are getting easier but he scale has crept up. I'm trying not to geT discouraged but it's frustrating.

Coach said to measure and keep measurements but I'm not good at tracking measurements (too much error I feel).

    Ugh!

Can we talk in terms of "total calories consumed" instead of this nebulous "cleaning up my diet" and possible differences between crossfit and bootcamps?

It's possible that the increased exercise intensity has you eating more. Do you track your calories? Are you in a deficit?

Crossfit alone won't make you put on weight. I do it and it did increase my hunger. I stick to my calorie allowance (I use the TDEE method rather than MFP which gave me 1200) and I'm losing.

Crossfit is very burny (technical term ;) lol ) which means you're going to get hungry when you do it. It's easy to overcompensate and eat back your deficit. The problem is not crossfit, it's poor tracking and adherence to your diet. Not quite sure why people are having so much difficulty with this concept.
