Nutrition question

I try to balance my nutrition as best as I can, I'm still learning, but my problem is this, I know too much or too little iron is not good for you. If I take my multivitamin I end up roughly 20-30% over the daily value. If I don't, then I'm usually about 50% under. Same with calcium (I'm not sure if going over this matters). I'd love some advice how to balance, or if it's ok to be that much over/under?

I take iron pills because it's easier for me as a vegetarian. I just checked the bottle, and one pill has 361% of the recommended daily amount, so I don't think going a little over will hurt.

Going over by just a little isn't going to be a big deal. Your body is going to excrete some of the extra anyway. My understanding is that the maximum amount you should take is something like 45 mg per day. I've had some difficulty finding an iron pill with just 100% of the daily dosage. The least I've found is 27 mg. What I usually do is take one every other day. I figure it all evens out in the end.
