Can you get an STI at a STI clinic?

Serious question. I want to get tested but I am the paranoid type. Part of me is worried that I will get a doc that is twisted and will some how give me an STI during the whole procedure...(is that even possible without having sex?)
Should I be worried?? Is there any chance in the world that they can intentionally infect me so that I have to seek treatment etc?
Has anyone been tested before? HELP

It happens all the time. Beware. Same reason I'll never get tested.0

you're spooking me out over here... seriously, are you pulling my leg or are you for real? HELP0 -
Good grief. No! Just go get tested. All sexually active adults should have regular STI checks as part of their general health check ups.
And have some respect for health professionals. Why on earth would the clinic want to infect you with something? You sound crazy.0 -
That person above is in fact pulling your leg. You will not catch anything there. Like any doctor, they practice sterile procedure. Go get your test done, you will be fine.0

The answer is yes if you *uck someone in the clinic that already has one. Seriously. GO.0

I am scared. I watch American Greed and I read the news...humans can be evil no matter what profession they hold.
Couldn't they get money from giving me treatment? I've heard of a doc that gave a patient cancer treatment when they didn't need it, just so that the doc can get richer !
Has anyone actually went to get tested??0 -
Most STI's can be transmitted via blood too. Most doctors are very actively practicing procedures that won't let that happen because they don't want to catch them either.
Don't rush into having unprotected sex or sharing needles with anyone at the STI clinic and your chances of getting something you don't already have are pretty near nil.0 -
Treatment for STIs is cheap, so they'd hardly be making much of a buck.
Yes, I get tested routinely like I get my blood pressure checked and skin check for suspicious moles etc. Nothing bad as ever happened.
I don't know how you function in the world being so paranoid. Weigh it up then - the minuscule chance of getting an insane Dr who infects you for some unknown reason versus what chlamydia or gonorrhoea could be doing to your bits.0 -
Do you guys think I can request just a test were I can urinate in a cup? I don't want them to touch me at all....0

As a health professional I would say you are completely safe going and getting checked. Now as someone who was regularly check while single. Again it's very safe and easy. It's something that everyone should do that is sexually active its responsible and mature. Someone who is sexually active and has/had multiple partners is selfish to not be tested.0

So go in there and talk to them. Yes, some tests can be done just with urine tests. Don't know whether you're male or female. If your male a urine test and a visual scan of your bits may be all that's required. If you're female it's usually a urine test and a swab of your bits. When you make an appointment and see the Dr/nurse you can explain that you don't want a physical examination.0
