Any students looking to lose weight? Any tips or advice?

Hi! I'm a full-time non-traditional student looking to lose about 70 lbs. I was wondering if anyone had advice for trying to lose weight while in school? I've bought a lunch bag and plan on making myself healthy lunches. I'm not sure how feasible that will be once my schedule gets really hectic. I've also bought a set of free weights that I plan to use while watching lectures online. Any other small tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! As always, feel free to friend me-- I'll try my best to support and motivate you on this difficult journey!

Does your school offer a gym membership? I try to when I have later classes go to school early and do a morning workout there. Or try walking/biking to school. Sitting in a desk all day doesn't give you much exercise so finding things that will allow you to move is good0

Hi Daisy! I am in school as well. Packing lunches is always helpful. But you can always eat at the diners or restaurants and lose weight if you do it right. I remember my junior year I ate nothing but pizza (I had a dining plan and no kitchen). I lost weight because I would have something small for breakfast, 2 slices of pizza for lunch, and 2 slices for diner. That brought me to about 1500 calories a day which was below maintenance. (I'm not suggesting this I'm just saying it's possible. These days I just get a salad or wrap.
As for exercising, I found it hard to stick to working out when I not only had a busy schedule, but an erratic one as well. I would suggest joining a sport. I joined boxing and tennis without having any previous knowledge and everyone was so nice. Another quick option is body weight workouts. If you have the time, (IDK your major) the gym might be free and they might have classes. It's all up to you.0 -
Are you living in a dorm? Do you have a kitchen? Full sized fridge? I lost a lot of weight in college utilizing my school's salad bar and finding gym friends who would go at the same time daily.0

When I was a student, I would leave for class fifteen minutes early as often as I could. During those fifteen minutes, I would just walk around campus. It added up to thirty or forty-five extra minutes of walking most days for me. Maybe something like that would work for you?0

I live in an apartment with a small fitness room. It's usually pretty crowded though. I might start walking around campus. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! Keep them coming!0
