If anyone else should come here looking for answers, in the iOS app you go to More > Steps and choose Fitbit (or "Don't track steps," or another device).

Healthylala81, how did you fix it? I'm having trouble disabling iPhone steps to use Polar App.
  • Seems to be a bug in the latest Myfitnesspal update. Can't disable or delete the iPhone steps. If I select none then none and iPhone options are selected. If I add fitbit app and select it then both iPhone and fitbit will be selected. I do not want to use my old iPhone but I can disassociate it any longer from Myfitnesspal. No combination of selecting steps or deleting apps helps.

Go to Settings in iPhone, then My Fitness Pal app settings - and click Motion and Fitness toggle to OFF. Then this will turn off counting iPhone steps. Then try to reconnect your Fitbit to the My Fitness Pal App. I am doing this and this first part worked. Now I'm trying to figure out the Fitbit part because it says "another My Fitness Pal account is connected to this Fitbit" (I bought my Fitbit used...not sure if that's it).
