Dealing with hunger

Going through with my diet I've noticed some habits that help with managing hunger all day long, and I'd like to share these methods with you all.
1. Plan your daily food intake. I would advise, that you put some effort into planning your dishes ahead so you can be sure you will stay below your daily limit. Get to know your weakness and leave some extra calories to that meal. I tend to get the most hungry at dinner time, so I usually set aside at least 600 kcal for it. It helps me not to give in to hunger.
2. Space your meals evenly. I've noticed, that I'm not very hungry in the morning and can easily hold out until noon without taking more than 200 kcal for breakfast. On the other hand I crave food every two-three hours in the afternoon, so I tend to divide my lunch into to equal parts. I eat one half at noon, and one half at 4:00 PM. If I really can't get through the 4 hours between them, I eat some fruit or have a coffee. I tend to leave the most calories for dinner, because that's always been my greatest weakness, and I don't want to feel unsatisfied for the night, because that could mean I give in to the craving.
3. Drink lots of water between meals. This doesn't go very far in terms of satiating your ever growing hunger, but it can help you postpone the next meal. Also, drinking helps with your body's water retention due to consuming salt. By the way... avoid eating salty foods for dinner if at all possible.
4. Seriously. Don't snack! Eating just a tiny bit of this, and a little bit of that can really fire up your digestion and make you hungrier than you would have been if you didn't eat at all. Try not to even think about food when you shouldn't be eating. Most of the time your "hunger" is just a reflex of your body for seeing food or thinking about it.
5. Do not give up. Even if you fail. If you got a bit carried away over the limit, squeeze in some more physical activities for the evening. If it's not possible, don't fuss about it too much. Put it behind you, and continue with your plans. Failure doesn't have to be defeat. You're the one holding the white flag, so keep it tucked away.
Good luck!
