Have you inspired anyone else lately?

Had an interesting incident in the gym yesterday and it got me thinking.

I was working my squat routine, and was finishing up my warm up sets when I asked for a spot (due to some people making very poor decisions, the standing rule is any squat over 315 must be done with a spotter). So I ask if anyone's available and this one guy volunteers. He's fairly well built, and looks like he hits the gym pretty seriously. After the first set, he says he'll be sticking around to spot the rest of my sets. I ask him if I'm interrupting his routine, and he said he was "not feeling it" and was trying to get up the effort to get something done.

This had two effects. One, it got me thinking about my gym visits. On occasion I have "not felt it" and skipped gym to do something else I needed to do. But this guy isn't in the mood to work out, but he's still in the gym, ready to work. And that gave me a renewed want to be in the gym. I even dropped by a second gym on the way home to see if I could find a weekend place to train.

The second thing was that I wanted to do something that inspired him as well. So after that last warmup set I mentally started working myself up to do some big pushes. And I'll be darned if I didn't get the smoothest squats I've done in a long time. 405, 495 - up easy as pie. Finished out with a 600 lb monster squat, and he seemed to be anxious to work out at that point. And I was still so amped up that I did sets of paused squats at 315 until I tired my legs out, and still had enough adrenaline to do calf raises with the same weight!

Have any of you gotten this sort of rush in the gym working with someone else? Did someone inspire you by putting up some big numbers/showing their dedication/showing support for you?
