Ok, so the break down of macro nutrients goes a little like this. (And please your feedback is welcomed )
1 gram carbohydrate = 4 calories
1 gram protein = 4 calories
1 gram fat = 9 calories
Ok now for those that are on my friends list know that I have been stripping my weight like crazy. June 2nd (257lbs) today 08/12/2015 my Aria states that I am at 221.4lbs. 21lbs to go until I start my way up. What do i mean by start my way up? working out and beginning my bulking cycle. So I look my my clean bulking cycle break down which looks a little like this.
Clean Bulking Cycle
16 calories per body lb. 16 * 221 = 3536 cals.
1 Gram of Protein = 221grams = 221 x 4 = 884cals.
25% on Cals = Fat Cals = 3536 x .25 = 884cals = 884 / 4 = 98grams
And the remaining cals = Carb grams ?????? ok so 3536 - 884 - 884 = 1768 / 4 = 442
Really 442 grams of carbs??????? WOW
So the break down is
3536 Calories
221 Grams of Protein
98 Grams of Fat
442 Grams of Carbs
man that's alot of carbs.
do these number look off?
1 gram carbohydrate = 4 calories
1 gram protein = 4 calories

First, what is your body fat percentage going to be when you reach 200 pounds? If it's not low enough then bulking is inappropriate for you. The 16 calories per pound is for men who are very lean.0

Great question! That is something that I need to find out, Now I know the fitbit aria is probably not very accurate so ill have to find a method that will be accurate. And if the percentage is not low enough, USMCMP do you have any recommendations on what the % should be before trying to pack on muscle weight? Keep cutting so that the percentage is lowered? And in your opinion what do you think is a appropriate percentage?? Now keep in mind I am a Endomorph. When I went to have my assessment done the nutritionist had nothing but bad things to say about BMI and how flawed it is lolol. And thanks again for your help, and seeing your screen name here, a fellow devildog as well.0

Somatotypes are a myth. You are not an endomorph. You move less than you should and eat more than your body needs. Stop thinking about bodies that way and it will take you far.
You should be around 10% (under is better) body fat before you bulk. The higher your body fat the more fat and less muscle you are likely to gain when you bulk. I'm willing to bet that 10% body fat for you is lower than 200 pounds. Basically, you should have visible abs before bulking.0 -
Protein is high, especially for a bulk. So, if you want you could allocate it towards fat or carbs.0

OP, you're overthinking this. Great attention to detail, but way overthinking this.
Like USMCMP says, drop to 10% bf and then begin your bulk. And when you do start eating more, your macros aren't so important as daily net calories. Aim for 250+ and if results aren't showing up, add more.
Enjoy the feeds.0 -
^What they all said.
I'll add, once you get lean enough, add calories back slowly so you can figure out what your maintenance is and calorie needs for a lean bulk. It'll likely take a month or 2 to dial in your maintenance and bulk calories but you are better off bulking slowly your first time.0 -
I really do appreciate all the feed back and Ill do just that. And your right usmcmp 10% for me will be way lower than 200 lbs. So with that in mind I will continue what im doing and strive for that goal to hit 10%0
