I GOT THE JUICE!

Hey, I just wanted to share my recent experience with juice fasting. June 1 until June 20th, my boyfriend and I embarked on a fast. This was probably the most drastic and committed we have been since we've become health conscious. The prep was the MOST time consuming and tedious part. The price of buying produce for both of us was a struggle as well, also being that we had to buy fresh produce every 3 days or so. We followed Joe Cross's (from Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead) recipes. I must say, I enjoyed every recipe and the hunger pains only lasted about 3 days. I felt lighter and more energized, I slept great, and it was very motivating to see my tummy shrink daily and the numbers on the scale drop. We did not incorporate exercise, just light walks in the mornings and stretching. The only cheats were not using organic ( but we washed thoroughly with natural produce spray). He lost about 10 lbs and I lost about 15 lbs. We weaned off with soup and smoothies and then eventually salads. Since then we have gone back to drinking alcohol 2x a week and eating fairly well, juicing in the mornings.
Our next idea is to do a 60 day juice and smoothie fast with incorporating yoga.
Are there any ideas, tips, advice... that would help us save money and stay motivated, and obtain the best results!!?? :):):):p

Thanks in advance.

Buy cheap food that will meet your macro minimums and calorie deficit. Lift some weights.

This is not a healthy or sustainable way to live.

I did a 30 day juice fast. I stopped snoring, my blood pressure went down, and my ANA's went back down to normal levels. I have an autoimmune disorder. My doctor was impressed. Don't listen to negative trolls. Do what works for you. None of these people are physiologists. If you post anything about juice fasting they are judgmental, not supportive. I do two a year for about 2 weeks each. People were doing it long before Joe. He just made it popular.

OP is talking entirely about weight loss, and does not mention having an autoimmune disorder or working with a doctor. Everyone who believes differently than you is not a troll, and we are telling the truth...juicing is not the reaon theyost weight, and they could do it for cheaper on a straight up calorie deficit (which is what the juicing created anyway).

Hate to tell you OP that you bought into a fad diet. Unless you're going to continue that lifestyle, weight is be regained as soon as you start eating solid foods. Not trying to dissuade you from juicing as a "supplementation" to your intake, but it shouldn't be the means to losing weight. Liquid diets have the highest % of regain.

I, personally, have never done a fast longer than 10 days, so 60 days sounds like a pretty intense experience to me. However, if you're doing smoothies, I'd recommend that you add yogurt, various nuts and seeds, and a (vegan) protein powder to your drinks in order to be sure you are getting the proper nutrition and not shocking your digestive system. Usually when you're juicing, you are not consuming 1000 calories a day... But with added protein (yogurt, nuts, cottage cheese, etc) you will be able to sustain yourself longer.. Especially if you're practicing yoga, which over a long time builds muscle which needs protein to develop...
