I have been using mfp religiously for 8 days. All i want is someone to do it with. Through these 8 days i have found 14 people who wanted to do this with me.... all of whom stopped using the app after 2 or three day. Im looking for someone to take dieting seriously with me. Someone who is serious about doing it long term. Let me tell you a bit about myself...

I am 20 years old
5'2"
183 pounds
Goal weight is 130
I go grocery shopping for myself and my husband so i control what goes in my house for food.
Im experiencing physical pains due to my weight
I need a friend to motivate me
I am entirely open with my habits and keep an open diary.

If you want to try dieting with me on here... send me a friend request. Im looking for someone thats jusy starting out.. and is devoted. Im sick of seeing all my friends on here log 3000 calories a day on hotdogs and cake.... and then make statuses about how they quit because they didnt lose anything in a week

    Hi jsjzisj:

Like you, I need the motivation - someone serious about their health. I have 100+ pounds to lose.
    Hope to hear from you!

    Regards,

I'm not a newbie, but I have a long way to go still, about 45 pounds. I do log every day and support my friends. Like everyone, I'm not perfect. Yesterday I had a rough night and went over my calories by 600. The good thing is that means I was at maintenance so I won't gain and today is a new day with better choices.

I've been on MFP for 16 months and had lost 35lbs. I recently gained back 5lbs when I had a running injury.
    I'm 36 and 5'4".

You may receive encouragement from your friends but ultimately the only way for you to gain motivation is from yourself. They won't be the ones losing the weight for you and they might not be there if things get discouraging. Find things within your life that motivate you, such as your husband, your health, your pain, and your future.

As far as the dieting goes... don't go too hard too fast. I've lost 22lbs in 3 weeks so far from eating pretty much the same stuff as before. Count your calories and it will happen. The only things that I cut out completely were soda, chips, cookies, candy, and other sugary or fried foods. If you want ice cream go to DQ and get a small/medium cone, just keep it within your daily limit. I also cut back a lot on breads and pastas. Instead of making a sandwich I use light wheat wraps for almost 1/2 the calories.

Oh, and don't do cheat days. I don't do them, so when I go see my grandma for dinner I don't have to worry about what I eat because I know that it won't make a dent in what I've lost.
