The junk food that you want whether its a milkshake, candy bar, slice of cake or whatever will only give you 5 minutes of happiness. Then its gone. Yet you live with the results of eating that crap constantly.

Add your own motivational phrase. We could all use as much help as possible. Candy bars are freaking everywhere.

Can I fit this in my calories? Is it worth it to me to do so? If yes, eat it. If no, eh, maybe I'll eat it another time.

This is absolutely my "go to" response! I also try to delay it. For example, I really want that doughnut in the break room, but I won't eat it now. I'll wait until after lunch and then I'll eat it if I still want it. Sometimes, I don't want it anymore; sometimes it's gone; and sometimes I eat it. But at least that way I'm not always eating it.

^Yes, I'm big on delaying tactics, too. I try to give it an hour or have a cup of tea or something. Usually that does the trick and I forget about it. Sometimes it doesn't and I work it into my calories if I can.

Exactly the same here (down to the cup of tea! lol). I think it helps because if you REALLY want it, you can still have it, so you don't get the urge to binge out of feeling deprived.

This. If I really crave something, I'll have it... maybe not today or tomorrow, but you bet I'm going to make room for it.
