Sedentary is where you don't move at all. Lightly active is where you move around a bit!0

Sedentary : Little or no exercise. This level is for someone who does not or cannot incorporate exercise into their daily life (e.g. drives rather than walks, takes the lift rather than the stairs, has a desk job or restricted mobility).
Lightly active : Light exercise or sports 1-3 days per week. This level would include people who incorporate walking and activity into their day to day activities but do not have an exercise regime at such or exercise or play sports fewer than three times a week.

Remember on MFP it's nothing to do with intentional exercise.
Just a very general reflection of how much activity is in your lifestyle and job.
As (from your other posts) you seem to be struggling to keep your weight on go for the higher level or simply keep increasing your calorie goal by custom setting it.0 -
What Sijomial said.....for MFP purposes this is just about your job. You log exercise separately.
<5000 steps/day may be used as a sedentary lifestyle
5000-7499 steps/day is typical of daily activity might be considered low active
7500-9999 likely includes some volitional activities considered somewhat active
10,000 steps/day indicates the point that should be used to classify individuals as active
>12500 steps/day are likely to be classified as highly active

If you do things like clean your house, go shopping without a motorized cart, walk the dog, you are probably at least lightly active. To be sedentary every day you'd need to basically sit ALL day. I suggest selecting at least lightly active.0
