How long to lose body fat%

I know it will be different for all people, but is there any general guideline to how long it takes to lose 1 body fat %?


How quickly can one plan to lose say 8% body fat with cardio and stregth traning?

    Find your LBM via a DEXA scan. - Cost - $100

    Once you have your LBM and the amount of fat, then use your calorie deficit.

    IE standard 1 lb a week. I am 128 LBM, 29 LB of fat = 157 lb.

    29/157 - 28/156 (optimal) = Around 0.5% per week, OPTIMALLY.

    Again this all depends on your body weight.

    Way too many factors, but, the more overweight you are, the faster it can be accomplished.


    Guys can often go from 18% to 10 % at a rate of about .5% a week. I'm not sure if it would be the same for a female going from ~26% to ~18%. Just plan on it taking between 2 and 4 months with proper training and diet. Perhaps longer if you do silly things. Thats my opinion.
