Diabetic, but high uric acid. Seeking diet tips.

Hi, I am diabetic but due to a staghorn calculus with traumatic removal and change in diet, I no longer take diabetic meds. On f/u MD visit yesterday, a 0.2mm stone was evident on Xray. Was told I would probly pass with increased water intake (like 64oz/day is not enough) and a low purine diet. MD also started me on Allopurinol, 100 mg. The goal is no meds, not more! How do I do that and maintain my blood sugars in normal range? My sugars levels are great and I have lost 65 lbs rather rapidly due to 5 hospitalizations in 8 weeks from various complications due to stone removal. I am in end of week 12 and very discouraged.

Call the doctor on Monday for clarification about how the low uric acid diet will take priority over the low blood sugar diet. Here are two links for the uric acid diet that suggest limited dairy and meat and lots of veggies.
