3 day military diet does work

So I posted about this a couple months ago wondering if anyone has tried it because people in the miltery swear by it so curiosity got the best of me and I tried it..it actually works..I lost 7.3 lbs in three days and two weeks later I have still kept that weight off you only do It for three days then after that you eat normal but still clean and workout. Some people do it a couple times a month but if u eat right after the first 3 days you shouldn't need to I know alot of people may not agree with this but hopefully this helped one person like it helped me...it gave me the jump start I needed unfortunately I will not be reading the comments on this thread because I never do because it blasts my notifications have a great day everyone

Well, it's only a matter of time before this thread will be closed I guess. MFP Community guidelines don't allow promotion of extreme low calorie diets :)

Wow! A whole two weeks? That's not nearly enough time to say a diet "worked"

So...why are you even posting here, if you're not going to read the comments? No one says that you won't lose any weight on the "military diet" (which has nothing to do with the military), but the probability of keeping it off is really low, and VLCDs are dangerous, at best. Please go start dumpster fires elsewhere.

Of course it "worked". You were at a huge calorie deficit. It was not that you ate those particular foods on those particular days. "Eating right" after the fact is what is keeping it off. You can lose initial water weight (which is what you lost over the course of three days) eating more calories and giving your body the nutrients it needs.

    Just popping in to say:

The Military Diet has nothing to do with the military; they certainly do not "swear by it"; and

I get the feeling you're going to be on diets and losing weight forever.

I just want to comment that not all VLCD are crap. In fact there have been studies where morbidly obese people went on MEDICALLY SUPERVISED PROLONGED FASTS (in some cases not eating any food for 1 year) with good results. But these were medically supervised fasts with proper monitoring, blood work, vitamin, mineral and electrolyte replacement. Certainly they are not for 99% of people out there (myself included). I personally don't feel well unless I get at least 1500-1800 kcal daily minimum. But let's not make a blanket statement that all VLCD or fasts are rubbish.

Yup, and everyone that is flagging it should be reporting it.

I don't think 2 weeks is really enough time to give any diet the credentials of 'working.'

I mean, any drastic calorie reduction for 3 days will give an initial weight drop and ' eating right' if by eating right you mean eating at a calorie deficit, will keep it off.

But how does this show the military diet is any better than any other calorie reduction system ( including just reducing calories with no specific system) and how does 2 weeks suggest a system is going to be sustainable for the long term?

Disappointed that OP will not be reading comments or answering my question.

Another question - what is the point of starting a thread if you are not going to read/ reply to any posts in the thread?
