I ate a lot of sugar today

Is there a food that makes it not be absorbed by the body as much?
I think I heard cinnamon works.
I have a sugar problem and thanks to MFP it has become clear.
I ate 52 grams of sugar and I really, really tried.
By mistake I had a protein bar today.
Balance Bar - Yogurt Honey Peanut
A whopping 18 grams of sugar - how dare they even make this stuff.
Can't I eat a stupid bar without having to spend 10 minutes analyzing a label?
The wrapper looked healthy - I "gots the dumbs".

Why are you so worried about sugar? Do you have a medical condition?0

If you do have a medical condition, adding cinnamon to food is the equivalent of putting a band-aid on a severed toe. It will help a small amount, but you really need to do more to have an impact.
So yes, cinnamon will help with blood sugars a small amount, but if you have a medical condition, I would consider just a useful minor tool like taking a vitamin.0 -
52g of sugar is not high at all IMO.0

Unless you have a medical problem, its no big deal. There's no need to go all cinnamon wild .0

If you're diabetic, check your sugars. Otherwise, log it and move on. Hardly a blip.0

I ate a peanut butter cookie dough smash blizzard from dq today. There was probably 52 g of sugar in that alone. Still under my calories for the day so I don't care! Not an everyday thing. You'll be ok!0

This. The only thing sugar means to a healthy person is some extra calories.0 -

I agree. But now I'm sad because i have not had French toast literally in years.
Honestly, i set my sugar limit to an obscenely high amount just because mfp doesn't differentiate between any sugars, and i have no medical issues. I still lost quite a bit of weight.
Edited because my phone apparently has a bad digitizer. Heh.0 -

I don't track sugar either, I replaced that column with fibre.
OP I've had 81grams of sugar today. Most of which has come from fruit and dairy. No cakes, lollies or other sweet treats, except for a quest bar.

I don't understand. Why do you think it's the sugar that made you tired? Could it be something else?
Do you have a medical condition where you are supposed to limit sugar?
Sugar is in most foods, including fruits, veggies, etc. Your body does not know the difference between types of sugar.0 -
I'm also a bit confused. Is sugar not a "carb" (as in, carbohydrate)? Also, sugars contain calories. Although a teaspoon of sucrose (sugar) isn't as calorie dense as a teaspoon of, say, canola oil - wouldn't you want to track it?0

I track my calories, not specifically what they are made of, or where they have come from. I pay most attention to Protein and fat and then carbs. And as long as I meet my calorie goal for the day, I'm happy

Just put today behind you and do better tomorrow.
I limit my sugar by moderating any processed foods. I add no sugar to anything, and at days end, the sugar I intake just from fruits are more than enough to fuel my body's needs.

The default MFP diary tracks sugars as a separate category. I don't do that. I replaced the 'sugar' column with 'fiber'.
I track my overall caloric intake, of course. I just don't worry about sugars as a specific category. I hope this is clearer
Yes. Thank you.0 -
