hi! ill be doing a short fast for the first time tomorrow and I'm wondering how, after doing a water fast for 24 hours, you should ease back into normal eating.

I used to do the 40 hour famine every year and I'd ease back into eating by having my mum make my favourite tuna noodle casserole, and then eating the whole thing.

You should be one to eat whatever you like. I just wouldn't eat too much at once, or too quickly. (I guess you should never really eat too much or too quickly, though.)

You know that thing you've been thinking about since about 13 hrs into your fast? Eat that.

Back, donut and waffle FTW! Oh, and make it real maple syrup.

Much as I'd love to give my vote for bacon doughnut waffles (drool :p ) you should probably make your first meal something light like a chicken noodle broth. Once that's had time to digest then hit up the bacon doughnut waffles

Maybe start with something light and healthy because the whole point of fasting is to lose weight so don't just eat it all back.

After a fast that lasts longer than 16 hours, I start with 4oz of milk or a cup of tea with a little cream. I know those things won't tick off my stomach. If that sits well, I eat.

When I do (religious) fasts, I end them with a big glass of water, then some fruits/veggies (have these standing by cut up), then whatever I want and am still hungry for (but usually some protein & carbs - if anything I gravitate toward egg & cheese dishes, but YMMV). I think it helps not to stuff myself!

Just eat. Eggs, cereal, fruit - whatever you normally have for breakfast.
