Hi , I am English but live in Wales in the UK. I'm 67 years young but need to lose 40 pounds ish because I'm only 5ft and my poor little legs are now finding it hard to move the blubber I've put on. I've been on MFP for a week now and started off at 161 pounds - Yaay today I weighed and I've lost 2 whole pounds!!
I have a problem though - US weights and measures v UK weights and measures - especially the US 'cup'! There I am, diligently filling in my food diary and trying to accurately input the amounts I've eaten and drank and it's taken me ages. I've now downloaded some conversion charts but even they say they are not completely accurate. Never mind though, what I am doing is obviously working, so maybe being a tad out won't matter in the long run. Good luck to everybody!

Do not use database entries with cups, spoons, or liters. They're terribly inaccurate, because they're units of volume rather than weight.
Weigh your food with a kitchen scale and find entries with grams.0 -
Hi there, also from the UK. Whenever possible use X servings of 1g/1ml, there's probably an entry in the database somewhere for it!

Thanks editorgrrl. I weigh all my food in grams with digital scales but sometimes the database doesn't give the option to enter in grams and I have to guesstimate. I'll get used to it though.0

When you see a verified entry that's in cups, you can usually pull down the serving size menu and change it to grams.
PS. The database is user-generated, meaning anyone can put anything they want in there. So it's really important to learn to identify accurate entries.0 -
