Just wondering, does it particularly affect weight loss/metabolism depending on which meal is large compared to the others? I also heard something about breakfast being important to kick start the metabolism and it will keep burning fat throughout the day?
I usually eat a small breakfast and then one snack (eg a piece of fruit) during the day and then quite a large dinner which is where most of my calorie goal goes to. Is this healthy?

My dad, who is 64 years old and still runs marathons, always preaches big breakfast, medium lunch, small dinner. I do it just the opposite. I have never been a breakfast person--I'm almost never hungry first thing in the morning. 99% of the time I skip breakfast, eat a medium lunch, and then a pretty big dinner. I have lost 47 lbs.

    Nope. Makes absolutely no difference.

Eating breakfast does not kick start your metabolism-and another commonly thrown around one, eating late at night is bad because you don't burn as many calories at night, is also woo.

^ This. Eat when you feel hungry and stay within your macros and you will lose weight. There's a lot of bogus information on the internets about "stoking your metabolism" or "jumpstarting your weight loss" by eating this, that and the other thing, but it's junk science.
