New Here, Need Motviation

I am just getting started with MFP and I would love to have some accountability and advice as I try to drop some weight using MFP.
I have gained and lost a lot of weight in my life. At other points in my life, I have been able to exercise more without paying much attention to what I ate. Now, with a family and work, I don't have the time to exercise for hours each day and as I age (I'm 32) it seems that its harder to lose weight. Ultimately, I am hoping to develop some good habits when it comes to eating choices.

Good luck Martin. I agree, the older we get the harder it is to lose the weight. I used to dedicate a lot of time and effort to exercise but life has a way of keeping us busy. I have been missing in action for the last couple of years but have decided today that I want to lose some of what has been sticking to me and get back in shape.

With the right tools, anyone can lose weight! I did the whole yo-yo diet thing for a long time. Making a lifestyle change is what finally worked for me. Feel free to add me as a friend, and I will help cheer you on!

Hey! I too have been working out for hours and wasn't paying attention to what u was consuming, from this I have gained alot of muscle mass but also gained weight. If iv learned anything, it's that Weight loss is 90% diet and 10% exercise. Using my MFP, has really helped recently, I have actually been paying attention to what I am consuming, yes you have to watch your calories, but something 10 times more important is to watch your macros. If you go into your nutrition page on MFP it will tell you how much carbs, protein, and fat you need to consume daily. Experiment with your foods and try to stay under your macro/nutrition goal. I have been using MFP for a year and a half and I have gained weight just watching my calories. But in the past two weeks I have been watching my macros/nutrition and have already lost 7lb. I can't stress enough how much you need to watch your macros/nutrition. Don't get sad if you loose one day and gain a little the next as weight lost Is an up and down thing. Hope this helped and good luck!
