I went for my annual Serum Lipids HDL/LDL checkup today;

2.5 years ago my TOTAL cholesterol was 6.2 mmol/L (normal 3.00-5.00)
my GOOD (HDL) cholesterol was 1.1 (normal 1-1.5)
my BAD (LDL) cholesterol was 4.8 (normal 1.5-3)

today my Total cholesterol is 3.71 mmol/L
my GOOD HDL cholesterol is 1.95
my BAD LDL cholesterol 1.57
(for those that are into this stuff my triglycerides have fallen to 0.41 (0.5-1.5 mmo/L normal)

this won't mean much to the young guys and gals on here but as you get older, 45+ for men, 50+ for women this stuff kills you via heart attacks when your arteries get too clogged up with its' deposits; it killed my father aged 51.

they tell you that losing weight & avoiding trans fats reduces your production of cholesterol - I lost 52lb & stopped eating fried foods & here's the results.

it's not all about dropping jean sizes folks, it's staying alive, do it for you & your loved one's who like having you around :smile:
