Good morning. What do you use for sweeteners? Sugar, honey, stevia, natural sugar.
Thanks in advance.

I don't really use them. If I was going to bake or something...I would use regular sugar as I hate the taste of the fake stuff.0

I try to keep it as close to a natural sugar as I can, most of the time. Evaporated cane juice, raw honey, real maple syrup, agave syrup. Occasionally I'll use a little splenda or stevia in my coffee instead if I've been eating too much sugar in general, but I don't really care for artificial sweeteners.0

Calorie free artificial sweetners. Aspartame FTW.0

Anything natural. Artificial sweeteners are very damaging to your body and your health. I like to use honey, raw cane sugar, or Stevia depending on what it's being used for.0

I basically do this as well. I don't do Stevia since I get headaches from it (no idea why).
Avoid ALL artificial sweeteners.0 -

And what can you produce to substantiate your fear mongering?
Although I'm not the OP, I think there are plenty of studies out there that illustrate the ill effects that artificial sugars have on one's immune system, etc. That's not to say I don't occasionally use them myself, but I would rather limit the use of real sugars then substitute with the other crap.0 -

I have medical problems that can be exacerbated by some artificial sweeteners so I try to stay away from them.
Edit: I use sugars, honey, agave syrup, maple syrup, corn syrup, or pureed fruits if I'm baking.0 -
I use sweeteners, because I like sweet tea and coffee, at 20 calories per teaspoon of sugar versus 0.2 calorie for one sweetener (and I have more than one in each cup) - it gives me more calories for my daily food allowance.0
-
With tea, coffee etcetera you can just get used to not having it sweetened. I used to drink my tea very sweet, then my University stopped having sugar by the coffee machines, so noone could have sugar in their tea unless you brought it yourself. Now I am so used to not having sugar in my tea that I actually prefer it. The rest of the people at Uni are the same, haha.
If you're baking, just use the most natural stuff. Raw sugar, honey.0 -

Oh you again....FFS talk to an airlines pilot about diet sodas and flying....
Such a SHILL, amazing, no wonder you logged 8400+ posts in 2 years...much be making some good money.
The U.S. Air Force has formally warned all pilots to abstain from consuming Diet Drinks in their official Flying Safety publication (May & August 1992.) Their Aspartame Alert article was based on that of the U.S. Navy to pilots earlier in Navy Physiology. 78% of all consumer complaints to the FDA are about reactions to Aspartame (NutraSweet, Equal, etc).
FROM THE FDA, SHILL. Yeah dispute this:

Dates of the studies you referenced, from within the link you provided:
There are other clinical reports in the scientific literature of
aspartame-caused toxicity reactions including Blumenthal (1997),
Drake (1986), Johns (1986), Lipton (1989), McCauliffe (1991),
Novick (1985), Watts (1991), Walton (1986, 1988), and Wurtman
(1985).
From you report:
We now have approximately 7,500 reports at an estimated reporting
rate of 0.39%. This totals approximately 1.9 million *recognized*
aspartame toxicity reactions in the U.S. between 1982 and 1995.
As I read more, most of the sources were from the 70's and 80's. Your source is very old and debunked.
There are no studies that link aspartame to any negative effects, minus a small percentage of people who are sensitive to it. Even in your "proof" study less than .39%. Stop fear mongering.0 -

i know, sucks to be called out in a public forum. As I said, enjoy the money you make. Kudos to you for getting paid for this. I would probably do the same if I was getting paid.
Are you going to dispute the FDA's findings now? Are those also fabricated and untrue? LOL... you two shills make my day
kudos.0 -

Lulz indeed, that was a letter to the FDA from a quack, not the FDA's findings. So you don't even comprehend your own "evidence" that you submit?0 -
Wow guys, the OP just asked what kind of sweeteners people used, not for all this arguing and BS. Move on.0

Actual FDA report on Aspartame? http://www.fda.gov/Food/IngredientsPackagingLabeling/FoodAdditivesIngredients/ucm208580.htm
As to the OP, I tend to use real sugar for baking but artificial stuff in coffee (which I've since stopped drinking) and still love coke zero. Trying to cut down on diet soda in general (mostly to save money).0 -

I hate fake sugars so I mostly use demerera sugar cube's in coffee or tea when I have it hot (1 cube, a time or two a week, basically). If I'm baking I use regular sugar and I have local honey at home and I've mostly eaten it when I have a cold or used it in beauty products. I have maple syrup for pancakes but I don't eat a lot of pancakes.
I'm trying to stay away from sugar most of the time, so the rest is whatever is in my dark chocolate or splurge desserts.0 -
