Flow (vinyassa) yoga and walk to run program or... just go with the flow?

Alright, I'm hesitant to even put this out there as the saying goes "advice is something you ask for when you already know the answer but wish you didn't?"

Do you think flow (vinyassa) yoga can be enough of a workout? Or, should I add in the couch to 10K program too. Idea is 3 days of each and one off day or 6 days of yoga.

My goal is obviously to aid in weight loss but the truth is I want to make sure whatever I do I'll stick to as a lifestyle change.

Can yoga be enough to see a physical change when coupled with diet or do I need to force myself into some running shoes?

Both. Yoga for strength training and couch to 5k for cardio. I don't think you have to choose one over the other. I do 20-30 minutes of yoga after running or weight training.
  • I do a fairly intensive yoga, fast flow. I get pretty sweaty and my heart rate gets up there, so I think it's your preference. I would like to try running at some point too, but for now, yoga gets my blood pumping.
    Namaste! ;)

I agree with @Psychgrrl! My current routine includes aerobics workout (I recommend FitSugar, Blogilates, BeFit videos) for approximately 10-20 mins followed by yoga for another 10-20 mins for at least 3 days in a week. On other days I'll commit to gym classes (Spinning, BodyCombat, Kickboxing etc) and light jogging.
