One step forward, two steps back.

Does anybody out there tend to make poor food choices as soon as they start monitoring their food intake? I seem to do really well for about five days and then as soon as I loose weight I go and eat everything under the sun and I am back to square one. I get such a ridiculous graving for sugar and salt. I am a happy and relaxed person but loosing weight for me has become almost impossible. I have been trying to get back to my pre baby weight for a decade, sigh... Anyone else out there going through a similar thing. Anyone conquered there weight loss battle. I would love to hear from you.

Are you trying to eliminate sugary & salty foods from your diet currently because this can lead to craving. Look at this as a complete change in your lifestyle rather than a short term diet and find a way to that is sustainable for you. A lot of people talk about the 80/20 rule where you eat 80% of nutritious foods, fruit, veg, lean meats, fish etc and leave 20% of their calorie allowance for the treats we love making it far easier to keep going. I have lost over 70 lbs in 3 years and have never given up wine & beer etc, have the occasional packet of crisps, some cake and icecream etc. Eating this way might work for you as well
