I definitely recommend that people who struggle with their motivation take regular measurements.

I've only been seriously making an effort to change my eating and exercise habits for a couple of weeks, but I've already seen my waist measurement go down from 40" to 38", my hips from 50" to 49", and my thighs from 33" to 29" and 28", which has given me just as much (if not more) motivation to continue on this journey as the number on the scale going down has.

It wasn't my TOM when I took the original measurement, but I am preparing myself for those numbers to go up again, because I understand that our bodies will fluctuate throughout the month, but it's still motivating to see that it really is possible to get smaller, even if I struggle to see it in the mirror (I keep telling myself the clothes that seem slightly looser must have just got stretched... haha)
