Cooking for yourself and your partner (kids)

I am cooking a healthy dinner every night for my partner and myself. I just give him a bigger portion than mine because he doesn't need to lose any weight. He says he really enjoys the recipes I am preparing so we are both happy and I don't have to cook twice. How do you work things in your household?

If there's a family meal, my husband is usually the one who cooks. He leaves off the extras (like butter) in cooking and lets everyone add in to their taste/preference individually. He usually makes at least twice what we need so that I have leftovers for packing lunch.
If we're wanting different things, we just cook for ourselves and let the kids decide which foods they want.0 -
I cook what I cook. People eat as much, or as little, of it as they want.0

We pretty much do the same thing, OP. We cook one meal. I might eat more/less of one dish and he might eat more/less of another and our daughter might eat more/less of another. But we all eat the same general meal. He is often the one who gets dinner started though since he's home earlier than I am during the week. I tend to do the cooking more on weekends. During the week I usually get cleanup duty.0

Everyone eats the same thing in the proportion that is right for them.
No special meals are required or allowed.0 -
I cook every day. Dh and I like most foods and like to try new things. Dd is pickier and hates trying new things.
When I plan meals, I try to get a few things dd will like in the list. Sometimes I plan a side dish she will like if she will not want the main thing. She will not want to eat what I make a few times a week. The list of meals is posted on the fridge for the whole month so everyone can see what is coming. I don't cook two meals if dd dislikes something. Dd can eat leftovers, cereal or a sandwich if she doesn't want to eat what I made that night. She can get those things herself. This has always been our policy.
Dh and dd do not need lose weight. I eat the same foods they eat mostly. I tend to eat more vegetables than dh or dd. Sometimes I take a smaller portion of foods, skip something like rice or replace part of my meal with a salad- whatever fits my day best.0 -
I normally cook the same thing for me and my partner BUT he doesn't eat Fish (which can be annoying). So occasionally i'll have to cook a separate dinner or have my fish meal at lunchtime.0

I make one meal. Hubby has extra snacks later (wish he stopped though). I might skip the pasta/rice but make some for the kids (sometimes).
Sometimes if I'm hungry early or we're having random leftovers I'll just make the kids whatever they want and hubby will make his own food later. We're often not at all on the same eating schedule, so it can get annoying (me starving at 5.30pm, him not hungry until 7.30pm).0
