Welcome. @megangray565 external motivation I find is worthless long term when it comes to improving our health. You will need to find a way to eat for health. I wanted to cut out my pain by diet alone and leave the kids with a good example as to how to eat for health. Just find something that will make you internally motivated that does not involve input from other people. I was out of time and knew I had to act at once. You are young and will get more bang for you buck if you will change to eating for health now. Best of success.

Motivation is temporary. You want this to be a lifestyle change, so focus on creating healthy habits.

Log accurately and consistently, every day.
Once you've been logging for a little while, look at the days you stayed at your calorie goal. What foods do those days have in common? How can you make those foods more accessible and easier to keep in your daily diet? Look at the days you slipped up. What foods used up too many calories? Did something happen on those days that caused you to eat more? Pick one thing and fix it
Move more, experiment with certain activities to find things you enjoy.
Lather, rinse, repeat until all these little things become habits.
Don't freak out about slipups. If you have a bad day, just do better tomorrow. Nobody is perfect, and honestly you don't need to be perfect.

And don't insist on too aggressive a goal - better to lose slowly and stick with it than to go all out, burn out, and gain it all back.

    Good luck :drinker:
