Step counting using two phones

I use my work phone (iPhone 5S) during the day and my personal (iPhone 6) evenings and weekends. However, I find that at the end of a work day I open the app on my work phone and all the thousands of steps have been recorded. I don't want my work phone on during eves/w-ends, but when I open the app on personal phone it overwrites the steps to the obviously much lower amount. I need a way of selecting two sources that are iPhones. The Apple Health app on both seem autonomous!

I think if you start a video recording on each phone, strap either one to your legs... and then play back the footage to get the steps?
I think a fitbit or something could be useful and more convenient for you.0
