FODMAT Diet-Anyone one, or have tried

Looking at the possibility of starting the FODMAT Diet to help deal with some stomach issues I have been dealing with since Nov 2014. Have had three attacks of diverticulitis since November 2014, and the recent one this month ended up landing me in the hospital for 5 days. Both the recent round and the first have needed IV antibiotics/anti nausea meds to get me through this. I am really wanting my life back.
So, dietician I saw today suggested maybe want to try the FODMAT Diet and see if that helps then start re-introducing foods again to see if I react?
Is there anyone on this diet? How do you find the diet/food choices? Has it helped? Are you on it long term? If not on it right now, have you tried it in the past?
Thanks

The low FODMAP diet is very effective for some people with IBS issues. There are several recipe blogs if you google, and people often comment how they can reintroduce night shades, or other ingredients without problems.

I work in food service at a hospital, taking the patient's meal orders. That's where I learned about the FODMAP diet. After looking into it, I realized I sort of follow a FODMAP diet. Totally unintentional, I was just diagnosed with IBS years ago, and it took a lot of trial and error to find what would work for me. I never did the super restrictive FODMAP with no garlic or onions. I love those! And I can eat most fruits just fine. But yes it really is a lot of trial and error and just finding what works for you. Good luck!0
