I have been down this road before and it had success however I gained it all back. Well this is a new year and I am more desperate than ever to get fit
I am heavier than I have ever been. I know what diet works for me. I just need to stay strong and keep resisting temptation--need to keep remembering that this is a life changing goal worth sacrificing for
. I want to be able to keep up to my grandchildren who love to go on long walks; I want to be able to work in my garden and not run out of energY; I want to feel more comfortable when I'm sleeping; I want to be able to buy clothes easily and to feel good when I'm wearing them; I want to stay healthy and avoid the problems that obesity brings on.

The diet didn't work for you, as your heavier.
You need to change your lifestyle move more, focus on what you eat. Make sure you enjoy it so you will keep it up for the rest of your days.
Good luck, feel free to add me if you want someone to cheer you along on the journey0 -
I'll give you a tip my doctor gave me when I talked to her about weight loss. Go high fiber. Really high. She suggested 45g per day, which I don't always meet but I probably do on average. It really helps with satiety and forces me to focus on slower digesting carbs, which seems to be more important for me after menopause that it did when I was younger.
Best of luck to you.0 -

Agreed, except:You need to change your lifestyle move more, focus on what how many calories you eat.
At the end of the day, you need to eat less calories than you burn. Eat the foods that you enjoy, just don't eat as much of them. Find out how many calories you should be eating to lose weight, buy a food scale, and eat that number of calories, consistently, and you will lose. You just have to give it time.

I'm in the same boat. I had lost 120 pounds, and I became pretty much an expert at constructing a good diet, could tell you with a fair amount of accuracy how many calories were in a particular meal, etc. I kept if off for years, but I lost focus, and went through some personal stress, and etc. etc. Gained a bunch back. I'm also a gardener, which is good because it can be great exercise, but its also gotten harder to kneel and bend.
Someone said to me that the good part is that is that I know I can do it because I've done it before. Of course, its frustrating to have to do it again, but I figure that advice is pretty good as far as it goes. Its like riding the proverbial bike. Just need to make sure this time is the last time, and manage maintenance better for the all the years to come0
