My daily goal is 1500cals. Our family is travelling to Kosovo this fall and I need tips for staying close to calorie goal as I won't be weighing or logging while on vacation!

I know some stuff that's popular there like bread and pita. Obviously I will be easy on that stuff. Too carb heavy for my diabetic body! Obviously stay away from desserts and junk too. But what about the Kosovo traditional foods that Im unfamiliar with but are soooo delicious??? What are they? What's healthy? What's not? Please help me! Thanks

Don't skip the ajvar. It's yummy and low-cal. I don't know what the local name for it will be, but it's eaten all over the Balkans. Look for the local version of labneh as well. It's used much the same way as sour cream would be in Central European cooking but is far lower in fat.

You'll be on vacation and presumably walking a lot. I would choose lean proteins and vegetables as much as possible, but would not worry about the calorie count as much. When are you ever going to go to Kosovo again? You're allowed to have a life outside of your diet.

Maybe look in the database to see if there are any Albanian brands or dishes to give you a rough idea.
