hello everyone I am 90 lbs. over weight I have tried many time to loss weight only to Plato after 30 lbs. the first 30 has always gone fast and then I stay for months never losing any more.. my last attempt I lost 30 in the first 2 months and then spent the next 6 months increasing every thing to loss weight. Ended UP HURTING MY FEET THAT HAVE NEVER STOPPED HURTING FOR 2 YEARS. I was walking 6 miles a day and spending 2 hours a day in the gym. I eventually give up because of the pain and the weight was back in to 2 months plus and this time the skin was saggy.... I have tried a few other diets since then did a month of no carbs .. not a lbs.. did a month of low calories no lbs. loss.. and gave up.... what I'm hopping is that this group well help me not to give up..... I am watching what I eat and as I have always found its not that I over eat I don't eat enough my calorie count is at about 900 a day I walk a half mile a few times a week.

The answer to your issues is a rather simple one, but one that I'm not sure you're going to like or accept. If you are not losing weight, you are not eating within a calorie deficit.
It's really no more complicated that that.0 -
Hi Loretta!
First of all, it's totally normal to feel discouraged, but you CAN do this! You don't need to walk 6 miles a day to lose weight. If you accurately track EVERYTHING you eat (even if you plan a "cheat meal" or accidentally fall into a bag of chips and aren't sure how much you ate--do your best to track it), and stay in your calorie goals consistently, you WILL lose weight. Weigh everything on a food scale to make sure that the tracking is accurate. I know that you've tried calorie counting before, but I was surprised at how far off my counts were or how much a cheat here or there was impacting my weight loss (or lack thereof). Once I got really good about it, the weight did come off, but very slowly, so you have to be ready to be patient.

It's a common pattern. Losing significant weight is very hard. Did you get heel spurs/plantar's fasciitis? That can be very difficult to overcome. Good shoes help, as does stretching.
I've seen so many improvements from the lost weight including no more medications for diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol, I'll live with my saggy skin. My heel spurs have cleared up, too.0 -
I'm not giving up this time I'm tired of being fat and I'm tired of hurting because I'm fat////I CAN AND WELL DO THIS0

If you are truly only eating 900 calories a day, you are not eating enough to lose weight! Your body freaks out when you cut down drastically on your food intake, it goes into survival mode, thinking you are starving- it starts storing fat, instead of burning it. (thats a little simplistic, but thats basically what is going on.) You need to find out exactly the number of calories per day you need to eat in order to lose the weight. I was limiting myself to around 1,000 calories p/d, until a friend from MFP shared this info with me. MFP has a tool that can figure exactly the amount you should eat daily. You enter your age, weight, height, activity level and how much weight per week you would like to lose. I was shocked to learn that my daily caloric intake should be 1580. But when you think about it, it makes sense. Your body has to have the fuel to BURN the fat, and by drastically cutting your calories, you lose quick weight, but then it stops once your body goes into panic mode, and then it hangs on to the fat. The way to lose consistently is to give your body enough fuel for nourishment and to burn fat. If you cant find the tool to help you figure out the calorie count for your body, send me a message and I will help you. It is really interesting, and the only sure fire way to lose and keep weight off. It has made a difference in my daily life, I wasnt getting enough food to give me energy to do my exercises, I just always felt tired and hungry. Now, with 1580 calories, I feel satisfied, have more energy and I am slowly, but consistently taking weight off. I will help if you want me to...just send me an email. You can do this, its actually like a huge math problem, you just need the correct formulas to get the answer we are looking for. Take care. Hope this helps.0
