Desperate

Options
Hello. My name is Rose and I am very new to writing on a board but I have become desperate. I am over the age of menopause and since then I have put on 40lbs. I had thyroid cancer 5 yrs ago and recently developed diabetes. I try one diet after another but don't seem to stick to them long term. I get very discouraged and loose my momentum when I see no change on the scale. I do know that I have a very slow metabolism and I am carb resistant. Therefore, I don't seem to be able to eat a typical ww menu. I have had the most success with a very low carb diet like Adkins but that diet involves too much fat, as now I find I may have a fatty liver. Also have high cholesterol and triglycerides. I feel I am a mess and don't know where or who to turn to. Is or has anyone gone or is going through this challenge too and where do or did you begin. Am I better off seeing a dietician or just struggle on my own?

Thank you to anyone who can help me shed some light on my situation.

Rose
