set weekly goals friend, easier to maintain, ajust and not lose motivation. If so thats a good start. Remember learn to walk before you run so a slow paced walk will get your tendons and muscles activated without the un neccesary pressure, anckle stretches and shin stretches should get you going smoothly. Stay hydrated and motivated friend. Walk until 3.5miles and after you should be doing 5miles a day by september.0

I started running about 3 months ago. I just decided to jump on the treadmill and give it a go. I started running around 8 min straight, then gradually up until now I can do almost 20 min straight. After I run for my first interval, I go to a fast walk for 2 and a half min, run for another 2 and half and so on until I reach my distance goal that day which is usually 3.5 miles to 5 miles.
My endurance has built so much. I always stretch before I run and have a proper cool down. My advice is start with a trial run, see how long you can comfortably go without walking and have a distance goal everyday and just keep consistent.0 -

You should try the C25K structured Learn to Run Plan, http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/30-couch-to-5k-running-program-c25k
If you can already do a 5km run come visit us at the August Running Challenge, http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10222628/august-2015-running-challenge#latest
If you go to the first page there is a really good description of setting up a Run Log ticker. They are probably already starting to setup the September-2015 running challenge.juliet3455 wrote: »The Good days carry you through the Bad days.
Have Fun - applies to what ever ( Exercise ) you are doing.
Small Steps - Become Big Accomplishments.
Plodding is an accepted / approved method of Running. Especially if it keeps you ahead of the Evil this way comes.
What's Next? How about a 5 km Road Race.
Then C210K and look for 10k races ( Destination Races = Mini Holiday ).0 -
@JohnSkaife how much are you running right now? Length of run, frequency per week? What's your deadline date?0

I am looking to get about a 8 min mile and and run about 3 miles by January prolly won't happen but that is my goal. At the minimum I have to run one and a half miles under 13 min which I can almost do now with a little walking involved
