So I have posted knee issue threads before, but I did not realize how bad they were until yesterday. So far, I have had to knock out running and any kinds of squats or lunges due to knee issues. This includes the high-impact Jillian Michaels videos as well, which sucks because a lot of people say they work.

I did Barre videos yesterday. I thought they were supposed to be easier in the joints than strength training, but my knees felt weak while doing the thigh segment, which included standing on your toes and bending your knees or your toes into what was kinda like a modified squat.

Well, after doing that 10 minute segment, working as a busser for three hours at my job, and as well as walking for an hour, my knees felt so heavy yesterday.

I want to become more fit. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the same results for those with knee Issues that others who can do strength training have?

Thank you!

"knee issues" is kinda vague. Go see a medical professional and find out what the problem is

You should see an orthopedist and get an X-ray.

If you have a Knee issue it should get fixed. I'd say see a doctor!

At age 63 I was 250+ pounds and had very weak knees and all the rest was weak too. I started and still only walk. Well I do some range of motion movements. A year later I am down to 200 and still just walking some. I had a lot of knee/joint inflammation. I did remove sugar and grains from my diet to see if it would decrease my pain so I eat <50 grams of carbs daily. That has cut my joint, muscle and digestive track inflammation.

So between the weight loss and cutting down inflammation in my body my knees are 98% better.

I hope you find the cause of your knee pain.

I went to a sports physiotherapist and got specific exercises. The important thing is to dial back any movement that is too hard at the moment. I do Zumba and just don't jump up like everyone else.

I totally understand about vague 'knee issues'. I'm pretty sure mine is just that I'm overweight, and have weak muscles overall, causing too much stress on the knee joint itself that normally the muscles would help with. I've been to the knee doctor, many times, though not lately as there seemed little point. My official diagnosis was 'chondromalacia patella', which meant the cartilage was thinning and grating down, due to a slight misalignment of the kneecap, which was supposed to be helped with physical therapy (which I did but did not work.) Eventually I wound up getting arthroscopy to one of the knees to smooth the cartilage all out, but this only helped for like five years, it is all the same as it was, now.
My conclusion is that the doctor cannot really help me with these knee problems, I have to help myself. My knees hurt if I do too much with them, basically, or anything too twisty or jumping/impact. I can walk forever, but anything more, is difficult. (Because I'm too heavy, and too weak, I assume.)
All this time, I have not been one to exercise much. (yes, bad bad me, I know, I'm well aware.) I have been trying recently, though, as I really need to lose some weight and gain strength, because as I get older it is becoming a bit of a problem. I've been doing the Cize dance program by Shaun T, and with the beachbody membership I have access to a lot of other videos too. I like the ones by Kathy Smith, the 'Project You, type 2'. They're meant for new diabetics who have little exercise experience. I'm not diabetic... but I like how she gives so many low impact options. Often I'll just do bigger arms, or smaller lunges. I'm careful with what I do with my knees, basically, but I still do it, keep moving. I don't jump or run, I'll just keep moving and do what I'm able to do. I'm hoping once I've dropped some weight I may be able to do more active workouts without hurting myself, but for now I'm just hoping I can build up to that point.
