Alright, I've been going at thisfor about 9 weeks now. Trying to eat clean/eat healthy (I've had a a few, not many slip ups but we're all human) and I'm going to the gym 5 days a week. Started working out with this amazing trainer from PF and even made friends with a bunch of ladies in the group whose been helping out. But, finally got on the scale to fay after not weighing in and only found a 3lb drop...I'm only down 7lbs total. It just doesn't seem right? I know I'm probably losing inches as well, but everyone says they can see a difference, my clothes are bigger but the sale is telling me otherwise. I'm going to keep pushing and striving and not give up...but it just seems to get me down just a little when I don't see a bigger drop in weight. Can anyone else relate?? What do you do to remotivate yourself?

I feel you. I'm only down 8 since I started months ago, but I wasn't super serious until about a month ago. I've lost about 3 to 4 lbs since last month. However, my pants are a bit looser and I've increased my planking/squats/push up abilities. I also feel healthier, which is why I wanted to do this. I try to think of the weight loss as a benefit while the strength gain and healthiness are the main goals. It helps me keep me positive and more motivated.

7 lbs is wonderful! Keep at it! What are some of the other changes you've seen so far? Don't forget about those! You earned them!

Get a tape measure and measure your waist, hips, bust, arms, thighs, calves and write it down. I bet you're losing many inches and making lots of muscle. Nine weeks and 7 pounds is good. Almost a pound a week. Good job!

You have to stay motivated some how. You have to figure out what motivates you. I use the weight tracking tool and I measure and log my weight every day so I can see the ups and downs. If you are losing on average a pound a week that is perfectly fine! A pound is actually a lot! Plus you have to keep in mind that if you are working out you are probably gaining muscle. A pound of muscle takes up less space. That is why your clothes fit looser or you are losing inches without losing on the scale. If the scale makes you feel bad don't use it so much. Find other ways to measure your success! If your friends are noticing a difference then trust me you are looking better! Set weekly goals. Remind yourself no excuses! I'm on a mission to lose the weight and keep it off! Keeping it off is the hard part for me! I always fall back to bad habits. I've accepted that I always have to watch, I always have to monitor my eating. If I do that I will look better and feel better! You can do this! You owe it to yourself to live your best life!!

Stop worrying about eating "clean", and just start worrying about meeting your calorie goals for the day. Once you are meeting your caloric goals pretty well, start making sure you hit all of your macros and calorie goals.

The first step to ensuring failure is start creating rules for what kinds of food you eat.

You're right about maintaining being harder than losing. I got within 6 lb of my goal a few years ago and started gaining it back. I'm 9 lb up from my low. I just found mfp and am going to use it to finally reach my goal. Wish me luck.

Yes, I can relate. I have five different metabolic diseases, so things move SLOWLY for me no matter how hard I work.

I've been at this for about four years now. It's normal at this point.

    Just keep going.

Thank you, I'm going to stay at it and go even harder! I'm not going to give up. And I can see the changes in my face. Maybe I'm being too hard on myself! But thank you and good luck to you too!

Yes, I need to do that. Just had another lady I met in the workout class tell me that. Thanks for the support!

I k ow everyone is different, but checking your weight everyday helps you? And I'm going to start setting goals, and meeting those. I'm going to have to go even harder at the gym. Thank you for that.

I never thought of it that way, setting up for failure. I'm just used to everyone saying that, watch what you eat and don't anything bad...I've been watching my calorie intake, that's what's helping me stay on track.

    This!

But 3 pounds is still 3 pounds. Weight loss isn't linear, you might lose more again next week.

@rose_samantha26 you are over looking your success. Give it another 90 days. If the scales are going down then you are doing more RIGHT than WRONG, correct. :)

Based on your photo I have been fat longer than you have been alive. Seriously give yourself some time and a break from beating yourself up over this. You are winning. Use Google to learn more about your new eating and moving lifestyle you want for yourself.

Do not take anything to heart you may read in a web forum UNTIL you check it out using Google or other search engines.

We are all different. What I may post may be right for me but harm another. Use Google to find the Pros and Cons of any eating lifestyle.

As a side note I weight before I go to bed and twice each morning and note the readings. I see cycles and most months I record a new LOW weight.

Remember you are winning. Time is on your side but not so much for me. Just losing 1 pound per month is 60 pounds 5 years from now. :)

Thank you for your worst of encougement! You're right, instead of beating myself up over 3lbs, I should be happy. It's 3lbs I did not gain, and rhat are off of me. I will definatly look new things on Google to help. Thank you for that!!

I agree with some of the others. You are doing great. Muscle is heavier than fat and burns more calories. Stick with it. You have inspired others with your effort.

Thank you for that!! I'm not giving up, what so ever. I'm going to kick some *kitten* and get mine in shape!
