The thing I will never understand on here is when I see people that just joined and saying they are having a cheat day after losing 2 or 3 pounds. Really? Don't they realize it was to many cheat days that got them here in the first place! Don't they realize it can only take 1 cheat day to gain a pound or more and can take a week or 2 or more to take that off.It is like taking 1 step ahead and 2 steps back. I know you can not always be perfect, but either you want to lose weight or not. I am not trying to sound mean, but that is the way it is. If you want to keep dealing with this your whole life, keep doing it and having to possibly deal with medical issues etc... Get to where you want to be, and then you can give yourself a few pounds to play around with. At least then you are in a healthy place.
Think of this as a job or a relationship and put everything into it.Cheat days are only cheating yourself. Sure you can go in the closet and have a pint of ice cream, but you are only fooling yourself and if that is where you are at, you are not ready for this. This is not an every few day thing. It is an every time you put something in your mouth thing, and everything counts. So don't come on here complaining you gained weight because you had pizza or cake or beers or whatever. We can not help you.You want to have to achieve it yourself. We can help with ideas, but ultimately we each have to do it ourselves.
The beginning was the easy time for me. All psyched to do this. Wait until you hit the plateaus where you are exercising and eating good and hardly losing anything at all for weeks or months. Granted it does not happen to everyone, but it can, and that's where a cheat day can bring you back to where you were a few months prior. You need to get your mind and priorities in the right place.Use all the positives, emotionally, physically and mentally that you get from losing weight, be your motivation. You can all do it!!! But the decision is yours!!! Do you want to be happy and healthy or do you want to keep dealing with the embarrassment and medical issues that may be associated with being over weight? For those of you that are really heavy and know what it is like to go into a store and has nothing in your size, or getting on a plane and can't fit in a seat. or going to a restaurant and not being able to fit in a booth, you know what I mean. One of my best days was after avoiding flying for that reason and finally after almost being at my goal, got on a plane and being able to have plenty of room in the seat, well plenty of room or as much as you can these days on planes, did not need a seat belt extender, was able to bring down the tray in front of me to be able to put my drink instead of not getting a drink or meal knowing the tray would not come down all the way because of my size.
Well, MyFitnessPal has been a great tool for me. I for sure would not have accomplished any of this without it, but it is a tool, you have to do the work, which brings me back to the beginning. Do you want to do this or not? Obviously so if you took the time to find this site, sign up, make friends etc...Now its up to you....Best of luck to you all.YOU can do this!!! Anyone that wants to talk or needs help, feel free to contact me anytime.I currently on day 961, so have doing this a long time... Have a great weekend!!
