I can never seem to eat what my calorie goal suggests!

I have been using my fitness pal for a while and I can never manage to eat as many calories as they recommend for weight loss. I am suppose to eat aprox 2600. If I eat less, and continue to work out and burn more than I eat, will I still lose weight ? Or should I be pushing myself to eat more. I can't imagine that right now, as I am eating healthy, but maybe it is necessary?

What are your stats? Height, weight? Make sure those are accurate in your profile and save them to see if that value is correct.

How'd you get in the position to need to lose weight if you can't eat enough even to be at a deficit?

Obviously I ate more before. But now that I have started eating clean I have been having this problem.

Make sure your stats are accurate in your profile as a starting point.

You don't have to eat clean to lose weight, you just need to be in a calorie deficit. If you're working out you also need to be fueling your body properly. Try adding calorie dense foods like nuts, avocado, quinoa, full fat dairy products etc. Add more meat and cheese to your meals. Dark chocolate! This is a long process for most people and getting very restrictive early on can lead to falling off the wagon.

    I agree !

Op - be sure your using a food scale to be accurate . if your having trouble reaching your goal ( and all your foods are truly weighed and logged accurately) then try adding some calorie dense foods. I eat scoops of peanut butter when I'm low ! In just a few spoons, you can add on a few hundred calories !

Also you don't have to eat clean to lose weight. Everyone I know that ate clean ended up just giving up because it wasn't sustainable for ever. I lost all my weight while enjoying the foods I love, in moderation. I used portion control. There's nothing wrong with having a slice of cake as a treat if all of your other needs are met !

What is your Basal Metabolic Rate? If you eat less than the needed amount to lose weight, you can starve your body and stall any weight loss. You have to eat enough to at least maintain your BMR.

Sadly, very few (if any) people fail to lose weight because they eat too little. If you are happy (and feel good) eating less than 2600; continue eating less than 2600.
