breaking the silence :-)

I've been a member for a few months now but have been pretty quiet; just logging in my food and exercise. My name is Bonnie and I'm 35 years old, married with 5 (yes, five) children, and a RN student. I've been at war with my weight since my late teenage years and after having my third child I tipped the scales at 300 lbs. It took about 5 years and going through a divorce to loose 120lbs. Since then I remarried and had two more children. Today I am at 200lbs and I workout at least 6 days a week (doing P90X and gym routines). It has been very discouraging because the weight remains and the inches aren't really decreasing after months of moderate training then 7 weeks of pretty intense workouts and dieting. I don't know if I'm overdoing it or what. I know muscle weighs more than fat and I'm building muscle and that could explain the stubborn scale, but the inches?? I'm pretty frustrated so I'm venting lol.
I'm open to any ideas and advice!

What is your calrie intake and are you eating your exercise calories? I would recommend also increasing your protein intake if you are not getting enough.
Feel free to mail me what you are doing and I can help if you want....0 -
First of all, congratulations on the first lose! Also, you amaze me with your schedule! I have one child and oh my I think I'm done lol.
I'm not sure what the issue could be, but I'm also in a plateau and have been for about 2 months. I myself work out 6-7 days a week, 5 of which are doing either zumba, zumba toning or body pump for 60 min. And the 2 other days are either walking/riding bike and eliptical. I haven't been losing weight or inches in this plateau. However, the inches that aren't melting, are being replaced with muscle and I can feel it. Take a look, is that whats going on? For instance, my biceps are still at 12 inches, but I have a nice lil muscle there instead of the fat that used to be there, same with my calves (thighs are getting there) My stomach... no loss in inches but I have what I call "fat abs" forming.
Just saying that's the only thing I can think of! Otherwise, go see your Dr. They can help much more to make the correct calorie intake vs burn for you.
Good luck!0
