Body Media with MFP

I don't know if this has been asked before. I haven't used my BMF in over a year. I just turned my account back on and have the thing charging. I never used it when you were able to use it with MFP. I am super excited for them to work together because I hated the food logging system from BMF because I was using MFP before. Anyway... I have the accounts linked/connected to each other but how do I make them talk to each other? How to I make my food show up on my BMF and my calories burned show up on MFP???

If the accounts are linked, it just happens like magic. But there was an issue earlier today where mfp wasn't syncing with other stuff (fitbit, bodymedia, runtastic, etc.). I don't know about the others, but my bodymedia is now syncing. So once your bodymedia armband is collecting data that is synced to the bodymedia server, the magic should take over.

    Yep. Mine is working fine.

I love magic! I'm excited! So how does it post your calories burned onto MFP? I mean what does it look like? You know how when you enter it manually it says "You burned 450 calories doing 30 mins of (fill in the blank).

It doesn't log it quite like that, and it doesn't post anything to your wall. The calorie "adjustment" it adds is the difference between what mfp thinks you burn in a day and what bodymedia recorded you burning for the day. The more calories you burn, the greater that adjustment will be. The bmf adjustment doesn't distinguish between calories you burned "on purpose" and calories you burned loading the dishwasher and doing laundry. It all gets lumped together.

I still record the minutes of what I consider exercise in mfp (just with 1 calorie). When I add that, it posts to my wall. If I'm really on top of things, I'll look at my bmf before & after and note what it recorded as a calorie burn.

If you look at the dashboard on the BMF you can see how many calories the activity has burned. Remember to take away though, the number you would have burned anyway- just by sitting.
