I've been watching my calories and hitting the gym 4 times a week. I'm about 3lbs away from my goal weight. Looking at my body, I think I might need to lose more than those 3lbs. I still see fat around my mid section and thighs. I know that I can't spot lose fat. But, is dropping weight the only way to lose the fat? Any suggestions?
I'm 5'10" 173lbs.

You might be at a great spot for a recomp. Recomping is eating at maintenance, while eating heavy, to burn fat and build muscle. There is an ongoing thread here where you can read about it.0
